What is the purpose of a storyboard ?A story board organisers graphic images in a sequence for the purpose of pre-visualisation. It is used in any type of audio visual product.
It is to plan out the 'scenes' in an audio visual product.

- Highlights special shot types
- Arrows and symbols indicate movements
- Numbered in chronological order to fit the story line.
- Info describing the action
- Camera movement
- Transition/ editing info
- Mise-en-scene info especially locations
- Uses interior/ exterior info
- Timings for each scene (in seconds)
- Title graphics
- Can be adapted
Ineffective features:
- Needs to be supported by a script to actually explain the narrative.
- Level of graphic design skill needs to be high.
- Little information due to brief annotations.
- Time consuming to adapt
- Making sure legal/ ethically issues are sorted early on so no changers are made.
